A pilot call for proposals was launched by GRNET S.A. on February 6th, 2017 aiming at the extension of usage of the national High Performance Computing system called ARIS, deployed and operated by GRNET.
The call is addressed to Greek companies that are affiliated with Academic/Research Institutions in Greece and operate in industries that can benefit from use of HPC, taking advantage of the computing speed, high performance and efficiency, fast access to data and reduced time to solution the HPC system can offer.
A maximum of 15 projects will be chosen and access will be awarded for a maximum period of 6 months, starting from March/April 2017. The proposals should address open research topics in all scientific fields. Via this call GRNET S.A. makes it possible for Greek companies to have access to the national super-computing facility ARIS, to develop their R&D sector.
A proposal will be eligible if the following criteria are fulfilled:

- the project’s final results, after the work is carried out using GRNET’s HPC resources, should lead to scientific publications and/or would be presented in open research conferences
- the proposal’s technical requirements should be in line with ARIS architecture, software, resources and the existing access policy
