ICHEC and IT4I presented at IXPUG Workshop in Czech Republic

The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) and the Czech IT4Innovations  national supercomputing center presented at the Intel Xeon Phi User Group (IXPUG) workshop in Ostrava, Czech Republic held from 15th – 18th March.

Dr. Michael Lysaght presented the Centre’s work on optimising the Fast Galois Transform algorithm on the Intel Xeon Phi. The presentation “Vectorization of the Galois Transform on Intel Xeon/Xeon Phi platforms” focused on work being carried out in collaboration with researchers at the School of Mathematics and Statistics at University College Dublin.

Also representatives from IT4Inovation were present. Lubomir Riha, Michal Merta and Jan Zapletal talked about “Acceleration of FETI Solvers and the BEM4I library using the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors” and  Milan Jaros presented “The Fundamentals: How to accelerate Blender with the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors”.
The workshop was hosted by IT4I and brought together the EMEA Intel Parallel Computing Centres as well as the wider Intel Xeon Phi user community to share techniques and best practices on preparing software for Intel Knights Landing.
